A little bit more about Shari...

Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, Shari Gill has been singing and performing as long as she can remember. At five she won her first talent show - to the surprise of everyone except her mother, who recognized Shari’s musical talent. Shari went on to study singing and acting at the Lucy Moses School, dance at Ifetayo Cultural Arts Academy, and later at the Alvin Ailey School. By the age of 10, she landed her first real singing job with the touring company, Living Arts, in “Porgy & Bess.” After her family relocated to Oahu, Hawaii, she went to Kahuku High School, and was a part of their first place award winning show choir “Vocal Motion,” and held lead roles in school musicals, and was lead singer and bassist for the school’s jazz band. After moving back to New York, she joined the Middle Church Jerriese Johnson Gospel Choir, whose performance credits include an appearance with Deborah Harry and “The Today Show,” and the New Horizons jazz ensemble. Shari also split her time between New York City and Boise, Idaho singing with a touring Mormon institute choir called “Unison.” She is currently living in New York, attending Marymount Manhattan College, studying Theater and Musical Theater, while continuing to work on her music and performance career.
